The roadmap was developed under the EU4Business program with funding from the EU and Germany. The roadmap includes the establishment of a processing enterprise during 4 years.
The need for a roadmap for textile waste recycling has long been overdue. A large number of garment companies operating both in Khmelnytskyi and in Ukraine indicate 15% to 30% of cases.
However, waste from garment production varies: polyethylene, various types of fabrics, plastic, etc.
The estimated annual loading volume of the enterprise proposed by the roadmap is 4000 tons, or 20 tons daily.
The goal of the campaign, led by Liudmyla Bukhantsova, is to develop a roadmap for recycling garment production waste based on a study of garment enterprises in Khmelnytskyi. Thus, the campaign aims to develop a clear action plan aligned with business goals and a comprehensive strategy for the development of the circular economy.
At the first stage, the mechanical processing of waste is considered with its further improvement.
The project requires support at both the local and national levels.
